Khatana, other MPs call on Shah, Giriraj; fully endorse pro active steps to weed out terrorism

JAMMU, Dec 12: MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana has fully endorsed the Union Government’s and J&K administration’s proactive steps in weeding out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.
The MP who along with the former CM of Uttarakhand and MP, Trivendra Singh Rawat and other MPs called on Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah and Union Textile Minister, Giriraj Singh at New Delhi discussed varied issues relating to J&K with them.
Khatana, while endorsing the proactive steps taken by Union Government and UT administration against weeding out of terrorism said that the back of terrorists and their support structure has been broken and terrorists and their supporters are feeling the heat and are on run now.
The meeting also discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the UT. Katana said the NC Government was misleading the people of J&K especially on Rohingyas issue. Favouring the deportation of Rohingyas from J&K, Khatana said that the J&K youth are already facing the unemployment problem and the UT can’t afford to provide jobs to outsiders. He said UT Government should give up its oft policy on Rohingyas and cooperate with the Union Government in their deportation.
Khatana also demanded that the mining policy should be job oriented and the poor people earning their livelihood from mining should not be harassed but a robust policy framed so that they don’t lose their livelihood.
He also demanded that the agriculture policy should also be job oriented so that the youth feel pleased in adopting agriculture and horticulture for earning their livelihood. There should be wide publicity of the schemes framed by Narendra Modi Government for agriculture and horticulture sector so that people can take their full advantage. In this regard awareness camps be launched in length and breadth of the UT by the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments in collaboration with other allied departments and Agriculture universities.
He demanded the loopholes in mining policy be plugged and Government should ensure that the revenue generated goes to Government coffers and not in the pockets of some people.
Khatana also stressed on framing a robust employment generating policy in J&K in private as well as public sector to arrest the growing unemployment problem. The Issue of Waqf Board also figured during the meeting of the MPs with Home Minister and Minister of Textiles.
