In a video shared on the microblogging platform X, Mehdi highlighted that thousands of qualified aspirants have become ineligible due to exceeding the upper age limit caused by prolonged delays in the recruitment process. He said that the delays have deprived dedicated and prepared individuals of the opportunity to join the police force. “The situation has left a significant number of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth disheartened and uncertain about their future,” Mehdi said, and added that granting an age relaxation would not only address their grievances but also restore their trust in the recruitment system.
Calling for immediate intervention, Mehdi appealed to the Government of India and the Home Minister to resolve the issue. “Granting a one-time relaxation in the upper age limit is not just a fair resolution but a vital step in restoring faith in the recruitment system,” he said.
