Tribute paid to Ch Masud

JAMMU, Dec 17: A solemn and well-organized program was held at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust to pay tribute to its founder Dr Masud Ahmed Choudhary, former ADGP, founder Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri and a great pioneer of the community.
The event saw the presence of Javed Ahmed Rana- Cabinet Minister and younger brother of Late Masud Choudhary; Satish Sharma – Cabinet Minister and people from different walks of life. They all paid rich tribute to Dr Masud Ahmed Choudhary, who passed away on Dec 16, 2022. They recalled the contributions of Late Choudhary in the field of education particularly for upliftment of Gujjar & Bakerwal community.
Sitting MLAs, Ex-legislators, senior politicians, former and serving bureaucrats, advocates, a notable number of trustees, the Principal Nehreer Khan, staff and students of KBPS, a large gathering of social activists, family members and many others offered floral tribute and `Fateha’ at his grave adjacent to GDCT. The programme began with the recitation of `Tilawat-e-Quran’ and `Dua-e-Maghfirat’ by Hafiz Muhammad Yasir.
Arshad Ali Choudhary Chairman GDCT welcomed all the participants on the 2nd death anniversary of Dr Masud and apprised the participants about the achievements of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust during the lifetime of Dr Masud Choudhary and after his demise. Chairman also assured the participants that the Trust will continue to carry forward the mission of Late Masud in achieving the future goals laid down by him which include establishment of Tribal University, Tribal Women College, Coaching Centre for Civil Services, Nursing College, Skill Development Institutions, preserving the rich Heritage, Culture and Gojri language.
Mohammad Zulkarnain advocate conducted the proceedings of the programme. General secretary of Trust M. Sadiq Azad presented rich poetry tribute to Late Masud on the occasion.
A documentary on life and works of Masud Choudhary, prepared and edited by Dr Javed Rahi, Chief Editor, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu was displayed on the screen.
Ministers–Javed Rana and Satish Sharma; MLA Sham Lal Sharma, JKPCC senior vice president Ravinder Sharma, MLA Vikram Randhawa, former Ministers Ajay Sadhotra, Abdul Majid Wani, Rattan Lal Gupta- senior NC leader, leading lawyer Sheikh Shakeel and many others recalled and lauded the contributions made by Dr Masud Choudhary in establishing the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu besides other social works.
