JAMMU, Dec 22: Let all the people of J&K pledge to uplift and revive our mother tongue Dogri by greeting others ‘Jai Duggar’ instead of ‘hello and hi’.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, president, Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K while speaking at a special programme here today to promote mother tongue Dogri.
On this occasion Shiv Sena leaders were holding placards with demand of introducing Dogri as compulsory subject in Government and Private Schools. Manish Sahni said that despite inclusion of Dogri in Eighth Schedule, the language is still facing challenges and has not been able to get its due respect.
He also said that Dogri should be used in government works and sign boards installed under Smart City should also be written in Dogri language.
Meenakshi Chhibber, Sanjeev Kohli, Bharat Mahajan, Rajesh Jandial, Raj Singh, Rohan Malwal and others were also present on the occasion.
