JAMMU, Dec 22: Punjabi Sahitak Sabha (PSS), organized a Punjabi literary meeting at Lexicon International Play Way School, Tahli Morh, Miran Sahib in R S Pura area of Jammu district today.
Well known Punjabi writers and poets of Jammu and Kashmir attended the meeting. President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and well known writer, producer and director Dr Baljit Singh Raina presided over the meeting whereas, Sukhbir Singh, an officer at Agriculture Department was the chief guest on this occasion. Harjit Singh Uppal, president PSS, R S Pura also shared the dais.
While expressing his views on the presentation and conduct of the literary meeting of PSS, Dr Baljeet Raina gave his impressions on the poems recited by the poets in the meeting. In his address, Raina appreciated that the quality poetry and in Punjabi was presented by all the participants. He said that the participation of young generation in the upliftment of the Punjabi literary pursuits is encouraging and should be welcome by heart.
Expressing his views on this occasion, Sukhbir Singh said that there is a need to connect masses with the literary activities and for that we will have to mobilize the public.
Earlier, Harjit Singh Uppal welcomed the guests and participants of the programme. Expressing his views on the presentation of literary creation by the writers and the poets, he said that the creations presented in the programme deserve appreciation.
The poets who presented their articles, short stories and poems in the meeting, included– Dr Monojit, Harjit Singh Uppal, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, Jang S. Verman, Balkar Singh, JPS Azad, Balwinder Singh Deep, Renu Bala, Suraj Ratan Bakshi, Bachan Bharti, Suraj Singh Suraj, Advocate Jasmeet Singh and Dr Kulbir Singh Badal.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Rajvir Singh, general secretary, PSS and the proceedings were recorded by Advocate Jasmeet Singh.
