PTC wins 7th District Poonch Taekwondo C’ship Overall Trophy

Poonch, Dec 28: The 7th Kyrougi and 4th Poomsae Poonch District Taekwondo Championship organised by Poonch District Taekwondo Association (PDTA) under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association supported by J&K Sports Council concluded at Poonch Taekwondo Academy, here today.
The chief guest of the occasion was Superintendent of Police, Mohan Sharma while Sunil Sharma, president Bar Association Poonch and Anwar Khan, Principal Government Model Higher Secondary School, Sawjain were guests of honour.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Rajinder Singh, Taekwondo Coach.
The championship was for Pee Wee, Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior, Males and Females and around 190 young boys and girls from 5 Taekwondo Clubs and different Taekwondo institutions took part in the event. Speaking on the occasion, SP Poonch, Mohan Sharma assured every possible help for the development of Taekwondo in Poonch through Civic Action Programme of J&K Police.
PDTA president, Priyanka Singh and Taranpreet Kour, general secretary also spoke on this occasion.
Free Taekwondo uniforms were also distributed to the players of rural areas of Poonch.
Later on, all the dignitaries presented medals, trophies and certificates to the winners.
The over-all trophy was won by Poonch Taekwondo Club (PTC) while Prisha Child Care Institute Mangar remained runner up and High School Shapur won 2nd runner up trophy.
Atiba Fatima of National Taekwondo Club was adjudged as best player in Pee Wee category while Vishnu Raina, Sukriti Sharma, Himanshi Raina and Garvin Gupta were adjudged as best players in Junior, Sub-Junior and Cadet male and female.
