JAMMU, Jan 19: District Police Jammu, in a decisive operation against drug trafficking, apprehended four drug peddlers including a mother-son pair and seized a substantial quantity of heroin (Chitta) from their possession.
During a routine patrol and Naka checking in the region, the police recovered 49.93 grams of heroin from the possession of the suspects. A case has been registered under FIR Number 12/2025, Section 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Channi Himmat Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the vigilant leadership of SHO Channi Himmat, Inspector Shariq Bhat, and ICPP Sainik Colony, PSI Prince Jasrotia, with supervision from SDPO City East Jammu and SP South Jammu. Authorities are now working on further investigations to uncover the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individuals and dismantle their network.
Meanwhile, Police Post Nehru Market successfully seized 30.92 grams of a heroin-like substance and arrested two individuals today. The operation took place during a routine naka (checkpoint) near the Warehouse area.
According to reports, a police team on patrol stopped an Alto car (JK18B-4096) for a routine check. After conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, they discovered the contraband hidden inside. The car was driven by Adil Gull, son of Gull Mohammad, and accompanied by Rayees, son of Gh. Nabi Wagay, both residents of Ashijipora, Anantnag.
The two suspects were immediately apprehended, and a case was registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The seizure was made under the supervision of SHO Police Station Gandhinagar, Inspector Arun Sharma, with In-charge Nehru Market PSI Ajesh Jamwal leading the ongoing investigation.
