JAMMU: “Forgiveness is the bridge that connects the past to the present, allowing us to release the burdens that weigh us down”. With this impactful opening statement, Arnav Khajuria of Grade 8 Galaxy alongwith his classmates conducted the morning Assembly at JK Public School, Kunjwani.

With more substance, pitched in Namanpreet stating, “Forgiveness doesn’t erase the past or justify wrong doing. It doesn’t mean reconciliation or forgetting; it means releasing the negative emotions associated with painful experience and choosing to move forward with compassion, empathy and understanding”.
Udhyotini added further, “Forgiveness has the power to heal emotional wounds, restore relationship and rebuilt trust, promotes self acceptance and self awareness. Forgiveness requires courage and willingness to let go of pain. But, when we choose to forgive, whether it is others or ourselves, we unlock the power to heal, grow and truly move forward”.

Pradyot quoted Maya Angelou, “It is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive. Forgive everybody”. Aarav quoted Martin Luther King Jr, “Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude. Dhananjay referred to Bryant H McGill, “There is no love without forgiveness and there is no forgiveness without love.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore applauded the presenters from Grade 8 Maple and stated, “Forgiveness is often misunderstood as a sign of weakness or submission. However, in reality, it is a profound act of strength and courage”. “History is replete with examples of great leaders who demonstrated the higher significance of forgiveness. Think of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, or Martin Luther King Jr. They taught us that forgiveness is not just an individual act but a force that can bring about social harmony and justice. Forgiveness, when practiced collectively, has the power to unite communities and nations”, he added.
“In our daily lives, forgiveness can start with the simplest of actions-apologizing when we are wrong, letting go of past misunderstandings, and giving others the benefit of doubt. It is in these small yet significant gestures that we create an environment of trust, respect, and empathy. Always remember, forgiveness has the power to heal wounds, mend relationships, and transform lives”, he concluded.
