KISHTWAR, Feb 3: Former Minister and senior leader GM Saroori, accompanied by his close associate Shabir Lone, conducted an extensive tour of Dugga, Drabshalla, Bhagra, Narwar, and Sarthal, where he met with the local populace, listened to their grievances, and assured them of his unwavering support in all circumstances.
During the visit of these places former MLA/ Minister engaged in direct interaction with local residents. He patiently listened to their grievances, which primarily revolved around poor road connectivity, lack of electricity, inadequate healthcare facilities, scarcity of clean drinking water, and limited educational infrastructure.
People expressed their frustration over the non-completion of government projects and the lack of attention from the administration towards their needs. They highlighted how severe winter conditions further worsen their hardships, making it even more difficult to access essential services.
Saroori strongly criticized the government’s inaction and said: “It is disheartening to see that despite repeated appeals, the basic needs of people in remote areas remain unfulfilled. The government must prioritize these issues and take immediate steps to improve infrastructure and public services.”
During the visit, Saroori was informed that several key development projects in Dugga, Bhagra, and Drabshalla have been stalled for years, leaving residents without much-needed improvements in their daily lives. He urged the authorities to fast-track the construction of roads, improve electricity supply, and establish functional healthcare centers in these far-flung areas.
He specifically demanded completion of road infrastructure in Sarthal, Bhagra, and Drabshalla to enhance connectivity; improvement in electricity supply to tackle frequent power outages; setup of well-equipped medical centers and dispensaries to ensure basic healthcare facilities and expanding access to clean drinking water in villages where water scarcity is a major problem.
Saroori reassured the people that he would always stand by them, no matter the circumstances. He vowed to bring their issues to the forefront and fight for their rights at all possible platforms.
He warned the Government that if immediate action is not taken, he and the people of the area would be left with no option but to initiate mass protests.
