JAMMU, Feb 3: A delegation of Association of Industries, Gangyal Jammu, led by its president Virendra Jain alongwith general secretary Sanjay Langar and treasurer Jatinder Singh, met with the Commissioner, State Taxes Department of J&K, Jammu P K Bhat.
The meeting was focused on the issues related to S.O. 70, 71 & 72 wherein Govt has issued amnesty to the unit holders who failed to file claims of reimbursement of SGST in time for the reasons beyond their control. Further, the SO states that the eligible industrial units who have filed their claims beyond the prescribed timeline, before the issuance of this notification, can avail the benefit of the scheme provided that they have filed all the due returns under section 39 of Jammu and Kashmir Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017 and paid the tax due thereon in time.
Explaining that this condition has deprived most of the unit holders from getting the reimbursement, the delegation demanded that such condition needs to be removed. The delegation apprised the Commissioner of the challenges faced by the industries in the region and sought his intervention in resolving these issues.
Further, the delegation also sought attention of the Commissioner State Taxes Department towards the GST reimbursement claims to the tune of crores of rupees, which have been submitted with the department and yet to be cleared. Due to non-payment of GST reimbursement, the industrial sector is facing huge financial crunch, said Jain.
The Commissioner State Taxes Department gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the problems shall be addressed as the Govt was already working on the same.
