JAMMU, Feb 5: A deputation of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) led by ex-Minister Babu Ram Pal and Mohd Latif Qureshi, Chairman AIBCU here today met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and demanded 27 percent reservations for OBCs.
Matter of reservation in promotion was also taken up. The deputation also demanded that the division and district level posts should be restored at the earliest. Issue of caste based census, issuance of OBC certificates on the pattern of central rules and OBC scholarships etc were also discussed.
The deputation comprised of Prof. Kali Dass, general secretary AIBCU; state working president, Lakhvir Singh Labana; Gurmeet Singh, M.R Bangotra, chief advisor; K.K Fotra, Ashiq Hossain, Koshal Kumar Longe, S.D Salgotra and S.P Karlupia.
