JAMMU, Feb 5: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Yogesh Sawhney today called on Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, and discuss crucial developmental concerns in the Jammu East constituency.
The focus of the discussion was on improving road connectivity and addressing pressing issues related to the Public Works Department (PWD). During the meeting, Sawhney highlighted several significant issues affecting local residents, seeking immediate intervention and resolution. He was accompanied by a delegation of the local people and representatives to raise important local issues.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that all the raised concerns will be thoroughly reviewed and addressed promptly.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawhney expressed optimism that these long pending issues will soon be addressed, and appreciated the Deputy Chief Minister’s proactive response. He further added that these concerns are critical for the development and welfare of the people of Jammu East. It is hoped that with the Deputy CM’s intervention, the necessary steps will be taken without further delay, Sawhney said.
Many of the issues concerning Jammu East have been left neglected in the past due to which the infrastructure, PWD projects, are in a dire state and hundreds of families are affected. He referred to Tootan Di Khui to Sandi road under PMDP where work has been stalled by ERA for over 2 years, 3 km road from Panchayat Khanna Chargal (Dagore to Pundar), from Aitham to Said Jagir under PMGSY, and road project of Mohalla Basant Singh Chabba to Raj Singh House road affecting 500 residents.
He also discussed the construction of a track from foot bridge at Katal Batal to Bhair Devsthan and requested upgrading the Surjwan-Chatta-Sandi road. He also demanding enhancing transport system in these areas.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring developmental activities and said that all the highlighted issues would be taken up on priority.
Sawhney was accompanied by Varinder Singh Manhas, Sat Pal Sapolia, Ram Magotra, Hader Hussain, Din Mohd, Mohd Aslam, Sultan Mohd and Madam Lal.
