Tribute paid to Shaheed Arun Katal on death anniversary

KATHUA, Feb 6: Rich tribute were paid to Shaheed Arun Katal on his death anniversary today at his native village, Jandore, near Kathua.
The function was organized by his family members and the unit of 19 Jammu Kashmir Rifles.
MLA Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan, was the chief guest and laid a wreath at the memorial of the brave soldier, who sacrificed his life for the nation in 2022.
Prominent dignitaries, including former Minister and Member of Parliament Ch Lal Singh, DDC Vice Chairman Raghunandan Singh, DDC members Dr Swehta and Sandeep Majotra, and former Vice President of the Municipal Council Kathua, Jatinder Singh Pappu, also paid their respects.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the national tri-color flag, followed by a ceremonial salute by the jawans of 19 JK Rifles and 41 Field Regiment.
The event was attended by Arun Katal’s parents, Parbhat Singh and Tripta Devi, as well as former soldiers from the All J&K Ex-Servicemen League and J&K Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, including Babu Ram Sharma, Shashi Pal Sharma, Karan Singh, and other local leaders from Jandore, Kardoh, Maha, and Lakhanpur.
Students from local schools were also present and paid floral tribute to the martyr.
Later in the day, MLA Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan, inaugurated the Yuvansh Clinical Laboratory in Dabwal, Kathua.
