KATHUA, Feb 10: The Jammu & Kashmir Excise Department, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, organized a Volleyball match and a Painting competition at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Domana, Jammu. The event was held under the guidance of Excise Commissioner, Subash Chander Chhibber and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Sanjay Bhat, with strong support from Principal Mohinder Sharma.
The Volleyball match, played between Class 11 and 12 teams, ended with a thrilling win for the Class 12 team. Following the sports event, a painting competition on the theme “Ill Effects of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Drugs” saw participation from 40 students. Gourav Sindhu, Savita Devi and Kanish Dev secured the first, second and third positions, respectively, with trophies, medals and certificates awarded to the winners and all participants.
In addition to the competition, students took an oath to stay away from drugs and encourage others to do the same. The event was attended by Excise officials, including ETO, City Excise Range North, Jammu, Swati Gupta, Inspectors Amit Sharma, Yatinder Surmal, and Sub-Inspectors Varun Kanathia and Kunal Parihan.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage students to engage in sports and creativity for a better future.
