JAMMU: Demanding immediate releasing of DA installments and regularisation of all temporary workers, J&K Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) held protest demonstrations on Thursday both at Srinagar Press Colony and outside Press Club Jammu.
Maqbool National Secretary AISGEF & President JKCCTU, while addressing gathering at Srinagar resented anti-working class policies of the Govt and UT administration. “Using COVID as a tool, the Govt made life of common people especially working class miserable. It failed to check skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, alarming unemployment, freezing of DA installments, massive privatisation, outsourcing and disinvestment of PSUs,” he added. He demanded immediate releasing of pending DA installments, wage and regularisation policy for casual labours, Anganwadi, ASHA workers, releasing of their pending salary before Eid etc. Those who spoke on the occasion included Haji Ghulam Mohd, Hura, Muneer Ahmad Khan and Gh Nabi Reshi.
Similarly protest rally at Jammu was addressed by Gurmeet Singh General Secretary. The protest rallies were organised as a nation-wide call of All India State Govt. Employees Federations (AISGEF). Others present on the occasion included Surinder, Raj Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Zakir Hussain and Rukhsana.
