Zambian president fires 7 senior officials

LUSAKA, Feb 22: Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema fired one provincial minister and six permanent secretaries in a large-scale government reshuffle, according to a statement from his office.
Hichilema thanked them for their service, without giving further details about the move.
He replaced Henry Sikazwe, minister of Muchinga province, with Njavwa Simutowe.
Hichilema also terminated the appointments of the permanent secretaries of Muchinga, Lusaka, Copperbelt and Luapula provinces, as well as the permanent secretary for special duties at Cabinet Office and that of the Ministry of Home Affairs. (UNI)
