PM Modi assures full support for SLBC tunnel rescue operations

HYDERABAD, Feb 22 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to inquire about the accident at the SLBC tunnel near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district.

CM Revanth Reddy provided the Prime Minister with full details of the incident, informing him that eight workers are currently trapped inside the tunnel. He assured the PM that all necessary rescue measures have been initiated to ensure their safe evacuation.

The Chief Minister also apprised PM Modi that Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupalli Krishna Rao are closely monitoring the ongoing rescue operations.

In response, PM Modi assured CM Revanth Reddy that the Central Government is ready to extend full support. He also announced that a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team would be deployed immediately to assist in the rescue efforts.

The Telangana government, in coordination with central agencies, continues to work tirelessly to ensure the safe rescue of the trapped workers. Authorities remain hopeful for a successful outcome with support from both state and central teams, an official statement said on Saturday night.
