DC Ramban inspects restoration work on NH-44

RAMBAN, Mar 1: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, along with SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh, and SSP Traffic National Highway, Rohit Baskotra, inspected the restoration work on NH-44 from Ramban to Banihal following recent snowfall and rainfall across the district.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner held detailed discussions with both SSPs regarding smooth traffic regulation from both sides up and down and issued necessary directions to ensure hassle-free vehicular movement. He directed executing agencies to accelerate maintenance work, particularly at vulnerable points like Mehar, emphasizing protection measures to maintain road width of existing road and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. He informed that traffic has been restored, with priority given to passenger vehicles.
The Deputy Commissioner advised travelers to follow traffic advisories issued by the Traffic Department before commencing their journey to avoid inconvenience.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed essential services and road connectivity in Banihal with SDM Banihal, Rizwan Asgar, and other officers. He instructed concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, while maintaining quality standards.
