DODA, Mar 6: DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Shridhar Patil here today presided over ‘Thana Divas’ programme at Police Station Assar.
A large number of prominent citizens, PRI members, Beopar Mandal representatives and youth were present on the occasion. The DIG was accompanied by SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, DySP DAR Doda, SHO Police Station Assar and other Police officers.
SSP Doda welcomed the participants and highlighted the objective and importance of holding Thana Divas in J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Patil highlighted the relationship between Police and public.
The participants were also made aware about New Criminal Laws and the DIG also elaborated on the advantages of New Criminal Laws and termed these as victim and citizen centric.
The visiting officers patiently heard the grievances put forth by the public and assured them that those would be redressed appropriately.
The DIG also appealed the participants to assist the Police in its efforts to weed out crime from the society and inform about any suspicious movement in their areas.
At the conclusion, the DIG handed over Character Certificates and other documents to the applicants who had applied for these.
