SHOPIAN, Mar 6: The Shopian Ball Badminton Championship, held at Sports Stadium Shopian concluded, showcasing growing interest and talent in the sport. Organized by the Shopian Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association under the auspices of the J&K Sports Council, the two-day championship saw 12 teams competing in both men’s and women’s sections.
The closing ceremony was graced by prominent guests, including chief guest Kunwar Singh (14th Battalion CRPF) and guests of honour Ghulam Rasool Khanday (Manager, Sports Stadium Shopian) and Abdul Hamid (Incharge, Sports Stadium Shopian). Their presence added prestige to the event, motivating the young players to strive for excellence in sports.
The tournament featured exciting matches, with players showcasing remarkable skill, strategy and teamwork. Spectators enjoyed thrilling rallies and intense competition throughout the event. The successful execution of the championship was largely credited to Organizing Secretary Muzamil Hamid, whose efforts in meticulous planning and execution ensured a well-managed tournament. His contributions were acknowledged by both players and officials for his passion and commitment to promoting ball badminton in the region.
