JAMMU, Mar 7: A notorious drug peddler was booked under the stringent PIT NDPS Act in Bishnah area here today.
A police official said that Parveen Kumar alias Pinna of Kothey Chorli, Bishnah was booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the Divisional Commissioners Jammu and subsequently lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
According to him, the accused has been facing multiple FIRs under the NDPS Act for supplying drugs to the local youth.
Despite his arrest in NDPS cases, the accused didn’t mend his activities and continued to promote the drug trade in order to gain monetary benefits, he said.
He further said that since the criminal would manage to secure bail every time from the court, a dossier under stringent PIT NDPS was recommended against him by the police, which was okayed by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu by issuing an arrest warrant against him.
The warrant got executed today with the arrest of the criminal and accordingly, he was lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah, said the police official.
