Salman Sagar urges Govt to address water scarcity in Hazratbal

SRINAGAR, Mar 8: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, today raised concerns over severe water shortages affecting several areas of the Hazratbal constituency during the ongoing Assembly session.
Sagar specifically mentioned the long-standing problems related to the SE and Mowas Canal and questioned the Government’s efforts to resolve them.
He also called for the expansion of the Hadura 0.5 MG water plant to address shortages in areas like Phaak and Hazratbal.
Additionally, the MLA urged the Government to consider constructing bore-wells or tube-wells in rural areas such as Fakir Gujri, Gandtal, and Dharbagh to help alleviate the crisis.
In response, the Ministry of Jal Shakti provided details about the measures being taken to improve the water supply in these areas.
However, Sagar stressed the need for quicker action to ensure a reliable and adequate drinking water supply for both urban and rural residents of Hazratbal.
