Renowned classical musician Garimella Balakrishna Prasad passes away

TIRUPATI, Mar 9 : Renowned classical musician, vocalist, and composer, Garimella Balakrishna Prasad passed away here on Sunday.
He was 76 and he died of massive cardiac arrest in his house on Sunday. Garimella Balakrishna Prasad was the court scholar of the famous hill shrine Tirumala Venkateswara temple.
He is regarded as a pioneer in composing and rendering Annamacharya Sankeerthanalu in various Indian musical genres like classical, semi-classical, light, and folk styles. He composed tunes for the lyrics of nearly 1400 songs composed by various poets. Of these nearly 1000 of them were Annamacharya Sankeertanas.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Garimella Balakrishna Prasad. He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families.
Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed profound shock and grief over the demise of renowned classical musician, vocalist, and composer, Garimella Balakrishna Prasad. YS Jagan conveyed his deep condolences to the family members of the late Garimella Balakrishna Prasad and prayed for the departed soul to attain eternal peace.
Recalling the invaluable contributions of Garimella Balakrishna Prasad, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted his distinguished service as a former court scholar of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
