Bodies of three individuals-Yogesh Singh (32), Darshan Singh (40), and Varun Singh (15)-were recovered from Ishu Nallah in remote Malhar area of Billawar tehsil in Kathua district on March 8, three days after they were reported missing by their relatives on March 5.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who represents Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Parliamentary constituency, condemned the killings and suggested terrorist involvement.
He called the incident a “deep conspiracy” aimed at disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the region.
“The brutal killing of three youth by terrorists in Bani area of district Kathua is extremely sad as well as a matter of great concern. There appears to be a deep conspiracy behind spoiling the atmosphere in this peaceful area,” he said on X.
Meanwhile, in honour of the victims, Singh announced plans to build a memorial at Billawar with MP Fund.
“In the memory of three youth martyred by terrorists, a ‘Smriti Smarak’ will be constructed from my MP fund (MP FUND) in accordance with the sentiments of the families of the deceased. The design and planning of this memorial will be done under the supervision of our public representative and leader of Billawar, Satish Sharma. DC Kathua Rakesh Minhas has been informed about this matter,” the Union Minister wrote on X.
