SRINAGAR, Mar 9: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar today forecasted a week-long spell of wet weather from tomorrow across the region.
“It said there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snow over higher reaches at many places during March 10 and 11, while an intermittent spell of light to moderate rain and snow at many places over Jammu and Kashmir during March 12 and 14,” a MeT official said.

He said there are chances of another spell of intermittent light rain and snow at many places during March 15 and 16.
The MeT official also issued an advisory for travellers, tourists, and transporters to follow the admn/traffic advisory before planning their trip during the period.
“The farmers have also been advised to suspend farm operations from March 10 onwards till March 18; besides, people living on the higher reaches have been asked to avoid sloppy and avalanche-prone areas during the period”.
The night temperature recorded 1 to 2°C below the average across Kashmir during the past 24 hours, while the day temperature today remained 2-4°C above normal across the Valley.
Srinagar had a low of 2.2°C recorded last night and the day temperature settled at 16.1°C which is 1.4°C above normal.
The tourist resort of Pahalgam was the coldest place with a low of -2.7°C, ski resort of Gulmarg in at -2.4°C, and Kupwara -0.4°C while day temperatures at these places settled at 14.4°C, 10.3°C and 19.2°C respectively.
