Haier starts AC production at Greater Noida Plant, invests Rs 1,000 cr

JAMMU, Mar 12: Haier Appliances India today started its AC manufacturing with ground breaking capabilities and inaugurated a new Injection Moulding facility at its Greater Noida plant.
This development is another step towards strengthening the “Made in India, Made for India” initiative.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Kumar Singh and N S Satish, President, Haier Appliances India in the presence of Anurag Yadav, Principal Secretary of IT & Electronics and Ravi Kumar NG, CEO Greater Noida Authority.
Gracing the occasion, Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh said, “We extend our sincere congratulations to Haier India on the significant milestone of expanding its manufacturing operations in Greater Noida.
He said, “Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is on its way to becoming a manufacturing hub and Haier’s commitment underscores the growing collaboration between the states and leading global manufacturers. We are confident that this facility will play a crucial role in driving the state’s economic growth.”
On the occasion, N S Satish, president, Haier Appliances India said, “The inauguration of the Injection Moulding factory and the ground breaking ceremony of the AC manufacturing unit mark another milestone in our journey to truly become a partner in India’s economic growth. This expansion at the Greater Noida plant underscores our commitment to the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and has been made possible by the strong support of the Government of India.”
Haier’s manufacturing journey in Uttar Pradesh began in the year 2019 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Haier India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Since then, Haier has invested over Rs 1,400 crore in Uttar Pradesh during 2019-2023, directly employing around 3,500 people in the state.
The upcoming AC factory will boast an impressive annual production capacity of 2.5 million units, expanding the existing 1.5 million units to a total of 4 million units.
