Jammu, Apr 29: On the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, celebrations were held with religious fervour across Jammu region.
The events were marked by spiritual fervor, cultural pride, and a collective commitment to promoting righteousness and social harmony.

Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha performed Yagya and Hawan at the Sabha Bhawan, near Parade Ground Jammu. Besides, Hanuman Chalisa was also recited by the Pandits and people present there . Later, a Satsang was also performed by women drawn from different areas of Jammu.
Led by Pt Ved Parkash Sharma, a large number of men and women participated in these religious ceremonies to celebrate Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti. A Bhandara was also served to the participants.
Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Ji Trust organized a grand celebration on the auspicious occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram incarnation day in Jammu today. Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Distinguished personalities including Kulbhushan Khajuria (KAS), Ajay Sharma (SP Jammu South) , former MLA Ashwani Sharma, and Trade Union President Suresh Sharma were present as guests of honour. The function was presided over by senior advocate and former legislator Advocate Ashok Sharma.
Dr Kuldeep Sharma, Chairman of the Trust, threw light on teachings of Bhagwan Parshuram. The event was anchored by Pt R C Sharma and Anita Chandpuri.
The celebration concluded with spiritual hymns, community interactions, and the reaffirmation of collective commitment toward social service, youth development, and preservation of religious values.
Brahman Sabha Channi Himmat celebrated Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav by organizing a religious function under the chairmanship of Sunil Sharma, head of the Channi Himmat Brahman Sabha.
A large number of people from different walks of life participated in the function. After the Sunderkand Paath and Puja Archana, religious scholars enlighted the gathering about the history and teaching of Bhagwan Parshuram. The singers recited devotional songs and bhajans mesmerizing the gathering with a religious and spiritual atmosphere.
Mahesh Pande a religious scholar, threw light on the responsibilities of a Brahmin. Tushar Kant Sharma and others called upon the Brahman community to follow the path shown by Bhagwan Parshuram and wage war against social evils.
In Akhnoor town , a procession was organized by Shri Dogra Pratinidhi Sabha. The procession started from Kameshwar Temple and passed through Kameshwar Market, Bus Stand, Main Chowk, and other markets of the town. On this occasion, MLA Mohan Lal, DDC member Suresh Sharma, former MLA Rajiv Sharma and others were specially present.
In the procession, the devotees were chanting slogans in praises of Lord Parshuram. The procession was led by youth riding two-wheelers who were followed by the devotees on foot.
Stalls were installed to serve devotees cold drinks and water at Sundar Singh Gurudwara, Wale Mandir, Main Bazaar, and other markets. In the afternoon, a grand Bhandara was organized in the Parshuram Ram temple and prasad was distributed.
Chairman of the Sabha, Ashok Shastri informed that Havan Yagna and Bhandara were organized in the temple. On this occasion, All India Baral Biradari President Mangal Baral, DDC member Bhushan Baral and others were present.
In Kathua, people paid their obeisance to Bhagwan Parshuram at Brahman Sabha where the seven days Bhagwat Saptah concluded today. Hundreds of the devotees participated in Maha Aarti and sought blessing of Bhagwan Parshuram. It was followed by a grand Langar.
According to the Brahman Sabha Committee President Dushyant Sharma, the seven-day Bhagwat Katha was narrated by Kuldeep Shastri.
