REASI: Police on Thursday nabbed six persons in Reasi District and recovered Charas and illicit liquor from their possession. As per details, during surprise Naka checking at Jamslan road connecting Mahore area with Ramban, a team of Police Station Mahore intercepted notorious drug peddler Shafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Jabbar, resident of Dhamni Chassana and recovered 1.04 Kg Charas like substance from his possession. The accused was arrested and FIR No 35/2021 under sections 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered against him in Police Station Mahore.
A team from Police Station Katra raided and searched house of most notorious name in locality. The team recovered 100 gm Charas from his house of accused, Karamat Ali who had already been arrested on June 13 for FIR No 102/2021 under sections 8/20 of NDPS Act at Police Station Katra for drug peddling. Meanwhile, teams of Reasi Police, during series of raids conducted against illicit liquor in district Reasi, lodged four FIRs and arrested five bootleggers red-handed. All accused were booked under Excise Act while 10 Liters illicit liquor and 35 Litres of Lahan was seized & destroyed on the spot.
Team of Police Station Ransoo conducted series of raids in Ransoo area and arrested bootlegger Sanjay Kumar, son of Ram Lal, resident of Ward No 9, Katla Tehsil Pouni and recovered 3 Liters of illicit liquor (Hooch) from his possession and FIR No 8/2021 under section 48 (A) registered against him under Excise Act at Police Station Ransoo.
In another instance, a team of Police Station Ransoo, acting on a specific information raided house of one Sham Lal, son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Kotla. During raid, 2 lts illicit liquor was recovered from his house. The accused was arrested and FIR No 09/2021 under section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Ransoo.
In Bhambla, a bootlegger namely Shoshi Kumar, son of Panshu Ram, resident of Dadowa Pouni was arrested along with 3 lts Hooch by a team of Police Post Bhambla and FIR No. 34/2021 under Section 48 (A) of Excise Act was registered at Police Station Pouni.
Teams from Police Post Dansal, in separate raids on house of one Prem Singh, registered FIR No 60/2021 under sections 48 (a)(e) and 50 of Excise Act and arrested two bootleggers namely Prem Singh, son of Durga Dass and his mother Nanki Devi, widow of Durga Dass, resident of Dhansal besides recovering 2 lts0 illicit liquor from their possession.
