STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Sunday said that J&K witnessed massive development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi especially after the strategically important decision of abrogating Article 370 which proved out to be a ‘game changer’ for the Union Territory.
He was speaking during a programme organized by Corporator Sharda Kumari here at Ward No 47 in which former MLC Vikram Randhawa and Neeraj Lucky Puri were also present.
Scores of political activists embraced BJP during the event and vowed to strengthen the party at grassroots level.
Those who joined the party fold include Bimal Dass, Hasina Begum, Mohammad Zakir, Mohammad Shafi, Zakir Hussain, Raziya Begam, Jimla Begam, Chand Devi and Anjali Devi. Welcoming the newly joined entrants to party fold the former Deputy Chief Minister said that BJP has become the popular political force in the country and with this popularity there comes responsibility of rendering selfless service to society round the clock.
“It is this responsibility which makes it significant for the workers to always remain on toes so that party can persistently maintain its image of being a ‘movement’ on which the countrymen can rely blindly”, he, said adding that these traits of the party have impressed the people of the country and it is imperative that focus should be laid on bolstering the party at all levels.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that those who are critical of Modi Government in the Centre must know that it is his contribution that terrorism is on lowest ebb in Valley, numerous development projects which were lingering since decades have either been completed or have reached final stage of completion and new projects have been envisaged for the Union Territory which will see the day of light sooner than later. He said that the political hiccups which hindered the political activity in the UT will also be removed soon as the PM has called for an all party meeting on June 24.
Kavinder expressed hope that the all party meeting will pave the way for a political government in the UT that is the need of the time. He made it clear that under BJP’s realms no section of the society will face injustice or discrimination and all will be treated at par with no bias whatsoever. Former MLC Vikram Randhawa and Corporator Sharda Devi also spoke on the occasion.
Among others who were present include Vivek Patyal, Dalbir Singh, Akshay and Rajinder Kumar.
