GOOD INITIATIVE

As Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Jammu Poonch highlighted the demand for regularization of daily wagers, contractual and need based workers in Parliament suggesting Central Government to do the needful in the matter sooner than later, the hopes of the hapless workers in J&K have been rekindled as it seems that things will roll in their favour soon. The Member Parliament has said that it is the burning issue in Jammu and Kashmir and the workers are fighting for their genuine rights. It is pertinent to mention that the daily wagers, contractual and need based workers are working in the various departments for more than 20 years and still are not getting adequate salary so that they can nourish their families. The unfortunate workforce is therefore protesting and moving from post to pillar to get proper salary and also to become permanent in their parent departments. The Member Parliament has appealed to the Central Government that financial help in the shape of final settlement should be given to Jammu and Kashmir for these workers so that they can get permanent employment in their respective departments and in addition to it their wages should be increased so that they can lead their life happily. The Member Parliament from J&K has taken up the matter very sincerely and it is likely that Centre will pay heed to the demand of the ruling party MP. There is no doubt that the miseries of the daily wagers have crossed all the limits as they are not being paid proper salary and whatever is being paid is also delayed for months together thus putting this working class into crisis situation as the inflation is touching new heights every passing day and daily-wagers are getting mere peanuts as their perk. The governments at the Centre and in UT should consider the plight of the aforesaid workers as the onus of their future lies on these two governments and no government can deny this fact. The MP Jugal Kishore’s stand in Parliament has endorsed the demand of the aforesaid class of workers and therefore the government should immediately start the procedure to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.
