STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: The sprawling, lush green campus of JK Public School, Kunjwani got reverberated with the chanting of primary school children, all agog with excitement in the attire of great freedom fighters and revolutionaries. With broad smile on their faces and josh in their hearts, they filled the atmosphere with gaiety and gumption.
In the morning Assembly, students recited the dialogues of their favourite revolutionaries and freedom fighters, which made the audience dumbstruck at having noticed the amazing language skills and emotional downpours of the immortal heroes.
A few unforgettable statements of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, which topped the chart were: ‘I am such a lunatic that I am free even in jail’; ‘I am full of ambition and hope and charm in life. But I can renounce everything in time of need’; ‘If the deaf have to hear, the sound, it has to be very loud’; ‘May the sun in his course visit no land freer, happier, more lovely, than this our own country’; ‘Revolution is an inalienable right of mankind. Freedom is an imperishable birthright of all. Labour is the real sustainer of society’. Scores of students clad in the white/saffron attire of Bhagat Singh with well-touted moustache and turban stole the show.
Dozens of girls in the attire of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi wielding their swords in one hand and a shield in the other one looked very impressive. They looked very strong, confident and enthusiastic, playing the role of the immortal female warrior. Some girls displayed their sword fight skills in an impressive manner. Wrapped in a saree, string of beads, warriors’ get up, a Queen’s makeup and hair neatly put into a bun transformed each girl into a real Rani of Jhansi Lakshmi Bai.
Dozens of children wearing camouflage uniform and caps, carrying gun or a pistol in their hands looked super enthusiastic. They were walking like soldiers with hands & feet well-synchronized. When asked about their future plans, most of them expressed their strong desire to be an Officer in the Indian Armed forces. Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore promised to impart a proper training to them pertaining to NDA, being the Coordinator of NDA Written & SSB at UP Sainik School, Lucknow for seven years. He feels proud of the 5 Commanding Officers in different battalions posted in J&K out of 36 COs across the country.
Another group of children in the attire of Bapu Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Mother Teresa, Maa Bharti, Tatya Tope, Khudi Ram Bose, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, Sarojini Naidur, some hand-cuffed revolutionaries etc looked very impressive. Joy was writ large on their beaming faces. It appeared as if all the immortal characters from the pages of history got enlivened and congregated at JKPS Kunjwani campus. Loud chants of Vande Matram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Hind! Jai Bharat transformed the entire JKPS campus into a pre-Independence site of India.
Principal Rajesh Rathore applauded children for showing such a great enthusiasm and their worthy parents/teachers for instilling in them the patriotic fervour. The entire campus got immersed into the spirit of nationalism and Tricolour ruled every heart.
Director, JK Education Society Shashi Choudhary commended children for their high energy level during the rally. Their loud chanting outshone even adults. She felt proud of the JKiians for exhibiting their josh and bonding with the nation. She wished all the students a very bright future.
