DB directs DC Reasi to initiate action for mitigating grievances of petitioner in PIL seeking proper dumping site

JAMMU: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Jugal Kishore Sharma (Sarpanch) stating that on account of absence of any established dumping site in village, due to which public as well as Municipal Committee are dumping waste material near Tan Talab which is a cause of great public nuisance and hazard to health of inhabitants, seeking directions for the concerned to stop dumping waste material at aforesaid place besides establishing a proper garbage dumping site to avoid pollution, nuisance and unhygienic conditions for inhabitants, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal after hearing petitioner in person, disposed of PIL with directions to the petitioner to submit a comprehensive representation highlighting grievance before the Deputy Commissioner Reasi within a period of three weeks from today. The court further directed that in case, any such representation is filed, the Deputy Commissioner would consider it, after getting necessary inputs will and pass a speaking order and take appropriate steps for establishing a proper waste dumping ground in village. DB further expected that Deputy Commissioner would take action in this regard within a period of six weeks from date of submission of representation.
