78 pc students qualify JKBOSE class 10 exam; girls shine again

JAMMU: Girls have outshined boys in much-awaited results of the Secondary School Class X Examination Annual Regular of Summer Zone Jammu Province, declared on Tuesday by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Education (JKBOSE) despite unprecedented and innumerable challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 10th class exams in the Jammu Division, conducted in over 686 Examination Centres, have registered 78 pass percentage. However, the overall pass percentage of girls (81 per cent) is higher than that of boys (75 per cent), the officials said.
A total of 54,802 candidates appeared in the examination out of which 42,576 were declared qualified.
Of the total candidates who appeared in the secondary school examination, 30,402 were boys, while 24,400 were girls. Out of 42,576 qualified candidates, 22,805 were boys, while 19,771 were girls.
In all, 1,990 students got A1 grade, 5,273 got A2 grade, 8,111 students got B1 grade, 9,185 students got B2 grade, 8,801 students got C1 grade, 7,064 students got C2 grade and 2,152 students got D grade.
The pass percentage of Social Studies is 85.74 per cent, followed by English 84.20 per cent, Hindi 80 per cent, Science and Mathematics 78 per cent each and Urdu 75 per cent.
The govt schools have shown better performance with a success rate of 67.04 per cent as compared to 55.88 per cent of the last year, hence registering a leap of 11.16 per cent.

“It is a proud moment for all of us to celebrate the persistence and perseverance with which we have been able to defeat the challenges posed by COVID-19. High success rate of the result shows that the Online classes and Community classes have remained fruitful endeavours. My congratulations to all those who have been declared successful. Those who couldn’t make it this time, shall not feel disheartened as they have another chance to prove their worth; surging ahead with renewed enthusiasm shall certainly bring them success. Students having any query regarding their results must contact either us or their School Principals” she added.
In order to facilitate the access of students to the result gazette, the JKBOSE has made adequate arrangements through media. The result is available online on the official website of JKBOSE www.jkbose.nic.in and on www.indiaresults.com as well.
The candidates can also avail SMS facility by sending the text message to 5676750 by typing JKBOSE10 followed by a space and Roll No. e.g., ” JKBOSE10 Roll No.”.
Those who don’t have access to Mobile Phones or internet can get their results from their nearest JKBOSE office where the soft copies of result gazettes have been provided.
The result is also available in the offices of the Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts for the convenience of the students and general public.
In case of any query regarding the result, the students have been advised to avoid visiting the JKBOSE office Jammu physically due to COVID-19 restrictions.
