‘World Cancer Day’ observed at JK College of BBA & B.Ed

JAMMU: An awareness programme on World Cancer Day was observed in JK College of BBA & B.Ed by Dr. Deepak Bharti, Consultant Department of medical oncology SMVDNSH, Katra (NH) and Member ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology).
He initiating his lecture threw light on the theme of cancer day this year “Close the care gap” which is about understanding the inequities in cancer care and taking activities to make the necessary progresses to addresses them.
He shared the data of increasing cancer patients everyday and urged the students to show the social stigma attached with this disease as it does not spread like communicable diseases. No doubt, it is a life threatening disease but it is curable. Early detection and right treatment can save the lives.
Dr. Deepak stressed upon developing the right kind of life style to avoid such diseases. The lecture was followed an interactive session in which the students asked questions which were well answered by Dr. Deepak.
RJ Chaitnya and RJ Rohit from Radio Mirchi 98.3 were also present on the occasion and they made the atmosphere light and survival by presenting a small entertainment stand up. The programme concluded with presentation of vote of thanks by Shikha Sharma.
