‘Roots in PoJK’ reconstitutes working committee

JAMMU: The working committee meeting of Roots in PoJK, an organisation working for welfare of 1947 Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir displaced persons, was held in Jammu on Sunday during which a number of decisions pertaining to the organisation were finalized.
During the meeting, held under the leadership of Adv Gurdeep Singh Pandey and Adv Ronik Sharma, the committee was reconstituted with Adv Gurdeep Singh Pandey as President, Adv Ronik Sharma as Convenor, Adv Jagdeep Singh as Vice President, Adv Akhil Tandon as General Secretary cum Spokesperson, Paramjeet Singh as Organizing Secretary and Deepak Sharma as Treasurer of ‘Roots in PoJK’ organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ronik Sharma said that the organization will continue to serve as in past for the welfare of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir displaced persons residing in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country. Gurdeep Singh Pandey welcomed the decision of Lieutenant Governor’s administration regarding construction of a Samriti Bhawan in memory of martyrs of 1947, who lost their lives during forcible relocation from their homelands which are still under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Akhil Tandon, Spokesperson urged LG’s administration to set a time-limit for construction of Samriti Bhawan so that there shouldn’t be any further delay in the construction work. Others present on the occasion included Gian Chand, Dr Mulkh Raj, Nirmaljeet Singh and Captain Hans Raj.
