JAMMU: A victim of Love Jihad, who was allegedly converted to Islam, has sought justice from Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
While addressing media, one Nitika Saini, a Hindu girl who was allegedly converted to Islam and got married to a Muslim, alleged that she was forced to change her religion. She claimed that boy’s family was also involved in the conspiracy. She further said that people, who are responsible for her plight, include Arfin Shah (Husband), Heena Shah (first wife of Arfin Shah) Maqbool Shah (Father-in-Law), Syed Irfan Shah (Brother-in-Law) and Mother-in-Law.
Elaborating further, she told media, “I was working in HR Deptt of one of the hospitals in Jalandhar, where I got in touch with Arfin Shah, who had come there for treatment of his mother, Mehmooda Naaz. During the course of treatment Mehmooda Naaz convinced me to marry her already married son Arfin. Being Hindu, I was initially hesitant but the mother-son duo convinced me that they are moderate Muslims and will provide me better life-style.”
She further said that finally, on Jan 22, 2021, her marriage was solemnized with Arfin Shah as per Muslim rituals.
“In Nikah-Nama my name was entered as Napesa Arfin Shah but not Nitika,” she said, adding that after few day of marriage, she was shocked when Maqbool, her father-in-law, proposed her for marriage. “When I bring this matter to the notice of my husband, he instead of supporting me started taking side of his father, which made me realize that I had fallen in trap of Love Jihad,” she alleged. “I brought this matter into the notice of Women Police Cell, Gandhi Nagar, but they too did nothing for my safety,” she said and requested Home Minister Amit Shah and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to help her getting justice. “I am running from pillar to post for justice. There are many daughters like me who are suffering because of Love Jihad. I request LG and Home Minister for initiating some necessary measures to help all of them, including me,” she said.
