STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the concerned Officers to discuss and finalise the strategy for the formulation of the Integrated Village Development Plan under special assistance for Tribal Development, based on gap analysis. The meeting was attended by ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti Department, JP Singh; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; Dy DEO, Parveen Akhter; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr. Shamin Un Nissa Bhatti; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PDD Rajouri, Narotam Kumar and other concerned officers. It is pertinent to mention here that the Integrated Village Development Scheme envisages multiple objectives including ensuring adequate Infrastructure, improvement in Socio-economic indicators, Flexibility for focussed interventions, welfare and development, Capacity building of PRIs, enhancing capacity to avail opportunities and securing rights, protection against exploitation and equitable development. While speaking at the meeting, the District Development Commissioner said for the socio-economic development of the tribal communities and to overcome the developmental deficit in the areas inhabited by the tribal populations, the Integrated Village Development Scheme was launched. “The scheme is being implemented by the Tribal Affairs Department in coordination with the Rural Development Department and district administration”, the District Development Commissioner added. Parameters including qualitative survey of the selected villages and others on which the plan formulation and procedure is to be adopted for village prioritisation were discussed in detail during the meeting. The meeting was informed that Plan formulation and village prioritization will be done on 55 different monitorable parameters in 14 different sectors. These include Health and Nutrition, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Education, Housing, Livelihood, Electric Supply, Road Connectivity, Mobile/ Internet Connectivity, Farm and Non-Farm activities, Market Interventions, Skill and Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion, Social Security and Digitisation.
