BUDGAM: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs, Police arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
As per the details, a party from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Wathora, intercepted a person roaming in suspicious conditions, who was tactfully arrested by alert police party.
During checking, officers were able to recover 300 gm heroin from his possession. He was identified as Younis Manzoor @ Sahil, son of Manzoor Ahmad Waza, resident of Wathoora.
During questioning, another drug peddler was arrested on his revelation from Wathora, who was identified as Nasir Farooq Sofi, son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi, resident of Wathoora, Chadoora. During checking, officers recovered 200 gm heroin from his possession. Both the accused were shifted to police station where they remained in custody. The initial investigation suggested that these drug peddlers were going to sell heroin among youth.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 106/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation was set into motion. More arrests and recoveries are expected in the matter.
