JAMMU: The Chairman and Managing Director, Punjab National Bank (PNB), CH. S.S Mallikarjuna Rao along with his wife on Saturday paid obeisance at historical Shri Raghunathji Temple situated in the heart of Jammu City.
Rao was welcomed by President Dharmarth Trust, Advocate Ajay Gandotra, who accompanied with Chairman and senior officers of the Bank took a round of the temple complex which was constructed by Dogra ruler Maharaja Gulab Singh and his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh during the period of 1853-1860. The temple has many Gods enshrined but the presiding deity is Lord Rama-Avatar of Lord Vishnu. This temple is considered as one of the largest temple complexes in north India.
Later, Rao performed Aarti at Raghunathji Temple and held special Pooja inside the Baglamukhi Temple, which is also situated in the same premise.
Interacting with the President Dharmarth Trust, Sh Rao shared that he felt an extreme sense of contentment and eternal bliss after paying obeisance in this famous temple. He appreciated the Trust for doing yeoman’s job in looking after this beautiful temple complex which is considered as the embodiment of rich and vibrant culture of this Dogra land.
The President of the Trust briefed the Chairman PNB about the history and the religious significance of this religious destination which is invariably visited by all the visitors of the city whether they have come for excursion, pilgrimage, touring, business or on a private visit. He said that Shri Raghunathji Temple holds a lot of importance in the hearts of people of Jammu especially those who live within the walled city as they are among the regular visitors who pay obeisance at the temple every day.
The Chairman PNB expressed his gratitude to the management of the Trust for a warm welcome to him. Rao said that he wishes to visit the temple again and will surely come to this place in days to come.
Among those who accompanied the Chairman PNB include Zonal Manager Parveen Goyal; Circle Head, Yatender Kumar; Dy Circle Head Neeraj Anand and Baldev Khullar, member of the Dharmarth Trust Advisory Committee and former President Raghunath Bazaar Businessman Association.
