JAMMU: A five member delegation of SOS International, an Organization for PoJK Displaced Persons, under the leadership of Rajiv Chuni, Prof. N. N. Sharma, V.K Datta, Bhai Ram Singh and R.C Sharma met Delimitation Commission and discussed the major issue of deprivation of representative process to Pak occupied Jammu Kashmir DPs.
While narrating the PoJK DPs plights to the members of Delimitation Commission, Rajiv Chuni said that since 1947 the PoJK DPs have been kept in dark about electing their representatives and deprived off the democratic rights.
He said BJP has promised in their election manifestos of 2014 and 2019 for de-freezing 1/3rd seats out of 24 seats reserved for PoJK but now they are backtracking on their promises.
He said that this is the high time to consider the genuine demands of PoJK DPs otherwise the exercise executed by the members of Delimitation Commission would be a futile exercise.
He said that one side government is claiming the PoK is the part of India on the other hand the government is not executing election on the assembly segments meant for people of PoJK that too when legitimate voter are available here in our Country as PoJK DPs.
He said that one-third population had been migrated to this side and it is mandatory to defreeze at least 8 assembly seats so that the assembly elections might be executed on 8 seats.
