JAMMU: National President of BJP Mahila Morcha Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurated 1-day Working Committee Meeting of J&K BJP Mahila Morcha at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu alongwith J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, Morcha National General Secretary Deepti Rawat, Mahila Morcha President Sanjita Dogra, BJP Vice-President and Prabhari Mahila Morcha Anuradha Charak, Dy. Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma, Seh-Prabhari Mahila Morcha Smt. Veenu Khanna.
Morcha Office Bearers and District Presidents from all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir attended this meeting in which various women related issues were discussed.
J&K BJP President, Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, appreciated the dedicated work of the Mahila Morcha in taking the policies and programmes of Narendra Modi government to the womenfolk. He said that the women activists in Kashmir too are doing splendid work in the valley despite odd condition.
Vanathi Srinivasan, in his adddress said that Prime Minister Narender Modi and the BJP were “deeply concerned” for the safety and security of women and providing equal opportunities for women and the same is reflected in various schemes that have been launched in the last seven years, she added that BJP has already granted 33 percent reservation to women in its organisational set up.
The party stands for political reservation for women so that they can be a part of the decision making bodies like Parliament and State assemblies this time was actually will be celebrated by many as ‘women emancipation’. The 11 women of the 77 Ministers will be no doubt to be quoted as the rise of “Naari Shakti”.
She said that BJP is the only party in the country which has been on ground during the period of COVID -19 pandemic to serve the needy and poor. She also highlighted the various measures taken by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narender Modi to contain and manage the Covid -19 pandemic. She added that the Mahila Morcha is committed to welfare of women folk.
Srinivasan appreciated the working of the BJP Mahila Morcha of J&K UT during the Covid -19 pandemic. She also spoke on Article-370 and 35A and said that the abrogation of the special status has also been beneficial for the women of J&K.
Ashok Kaul, in his address in the meeting, discussed the party’s ideology, principles and concepts and said that the party workers will have to focus on the welfare schemes and achievements of the central and UT governments.
He also spoke on the organizational matters and the need of strengthening the party fabric at the Mandal and Booth level. He also acquainted the Morcha activists with the forthcoming party programmes and asked them to take these to the common masses. He reiterated BJP’s resolve to work for welfare and upliftment of womenfolk.
Sanjita Dogra, in her presidential address, welcomed all the participants and presented account of organizational and developmental works undertaken by the Mahila Morcha at various levels in the previous months with special reference to the services rendered during COVID-19 pandemic. She also stressed on the social security of the females alongwith their empowerment and upliftment, which will boost their efficiency in displaying their ability and capability. She also spoke on the success of BJP’s policies among the masses.
Morcha J&K General Secretary Urvashi Gupta tabled a resolution, mentioning various welfare schemes of Narendra Modi government exclusively for the socio-economic upliftment of the women. The resolution also contained suggestions/ demands to make women self reliant and lead dignified life.It was seconded by Former President of Jammu and Kashmir BJP Mahila Morcha Ex MOS and Incharge head office Priya Sethi.
Morcha Prabhari Anuradha Charak and All Morcha Prabhari Munish Sharma also addressed the meeting and shared their experiences while serving the party and the Morcha.
Mahila Morcha J&K General Secretary Updesh Andotra conducted the proceedings of the meeting and vote of thanks presented by General Secretary Neha Mahajan.
District Presidents presented reports on organizational and political activities of their respective districts.
Morcha Office secretary Reema Padha read the condolence message for the departed souls of the family members and relative of morcha activists.
Morcha Spokesperson Geetanjali Mahajan recited Vande mataram and Sangathan Geet.
Morcha National President also felicitated women activists working in Electronic, Print, IT & Social media namely Prerna Nanda, Poonam Gupta, Archana Koushal and Anita Gandotra.
