BILLAWAR: Former Minister and President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal on Monday showed serious concern and urged district & LG adminstrtion to provide immediate relief and compensation to the people affected due to flash floods in river UJH in distrct kathua. While speaking Dr Sharma said since 5 th july water is continuously rising in river UJH due to which today around 1100 kanals of cultivated land with crops has washed away thus making lives of affected persons a miserable one. After talking with theSatpaul bhagat (sarpanch)& other villagersof village chak chabbey he was informed the house belonging to Noor Hussain was completely washed away where as others belonging to Jagdish singh, Puran chand & Ali Mohammed has suffered severe damages and urged administration to provide immediate relief to affected people.
Further Dr Sharma requested administration to prepare DPR immediately for concrete protection wall and work be finished on war foot basis so that damages to lives and properties be avoided in near future. He also appreciated efforts of Congress leader Pradeep Sharma Bittu and team who visited on spot in flood affected areas and listened to grievances of the public.
