Congress urges Admn to consider genuine demand of protesting students

JAMMU: Former Minister Raman Bhalla, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and NSUI team led by its President Sunny Parihar, on Monday visited DPL lines where students were holding Dharna, seeking release of other students and mother of a student, who were detained inside. They met agitating students, extended full support to them and asked not to get frustrate. The Congress leaders visited the spot after receiving phone call of students, who requested them to come for their rescue. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that Govt should consider genuine demand of students sympathetically for resolving the issue. Regretting detention of students, he extended full support to them. Ravinder Sharma, after visiting Press Club from where students were lifted, also reached DPL and demanded unconditional release of students. He asked the Government to consider demands of protesting students. Sunny Parihar and his team also joined Dharna with students and pressed for immediate release of all those detained. He termed detention of juveniles as illegal and unfortunate and criticised apathetic attitude of administration, especially JKBOSE authorities, towards minor students. He also lashed out at silence of BJP leaders over genuine demands of students.
