UDHAMPUR: A drug peddler was arrested in Udhampur on Monday with 10 Kg poppy, officials said.
As per details, a team of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp Chaman Gorkha under supervision of Anwaar-ul-Haq Addl SP Udhampur and Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs Udhampur laid a Naka at Jakhani Chowk. During checking, police stopped a truck (JK02AJ 2739) for checking, from which 10 Kg poppy straw was recovered. The narcotic smuggler, identified as Parshotam Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Phalata, Udhampur, was arrested and poppy straw was seized. FIR No. 265/2021 under sections 8/15 of NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Udhampur.
