Jammu: As a part of Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Government Degree College (GDC) Nagrota organised an essay writing competition in regional languages on the topic ‘Drugs and Youth of India’.
Students participated enthusiastically and shared their ideas in Urdu, Punjabi and Dogri languages. This competition aimed at promoting the use of regional languages among youth and also spreading awareness about menace of drugs.
Essays of Mehak Singh in Punjabi, Hanira Kousar in Urdu and Tania Verma in Dogri were adjudged best. Principal of the College, Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal appreciated the efforts of Nasha Mukt Committee of the college for organising the competition. Members of committee includes Dr. Neetu Singh, Dr. Desh Bandhu Sharma, Dr. Ritu Dewan, Prof. Aanchal Sharma and Prof. Dinesh Singh Chib.
