STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: Taking stringent action against violators of COVID protocols, Motor Vehicle Act and other traffic rules including plying vehicles without installing speed limiting devices, the MVD Ramban conducted massive checking of passenger vehicles in different areas of district Ramban. A large number of vehicles were checked during the drive, out of which 12 vehicles were Challaned/ fined for violations like over-speeding, overcharging, overloading, plying without speed limiting device and incomplete documents etc. The enforcement team also imposed fine of Rs 8,500 on drivers indulged in violations of rules. Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Ramban, Shafqat Majid also seized 2 vehicles during checking drive. He also sensitized the drivers about Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, besides directing them to follow these rules strictly. He also visited Bus stand Ramban in wake of ensuing festivals and warned transport unions and drivers not to indulge in overcharging and overloading during festive season.
