JAMMU: In pursuance to the instructions of Directorate General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), New Delhi to organize a massive All India mega plantation drive on Sunday, a mega plantation drive was carried out by all the units and establishments of CRPF in Jammu region.
During the event, Group Centre Bantalab, Jammu CRPF organized a mega plantation drive.
On this occasion Chief Guest Bhanu Pratap Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Group Center CRPF Jammu and Special Guest Bhupinder Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Jammu & Kashmir Zone, Jammu and Prem Chandra Gupta Commandantof Group Center Jammu, and Ranbir Campus Central Sanskrit University Kot Bhalwal Jammu Director Prof Madan Mohan Jha and Dr. Madan Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor and Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab Jammu, Suraj Prasad and Dr Kapil Batra and his wife Sonia Batra from Nauropathy Hospital Ved Mandir Ambphla, Jammu and the gazetted officers/personnel of CRPF were present.
On this occasion, families of gazetted officers, personnel residing in Group Center Jammu campus also participated enthusiastically in plantation drive.
in all, 3000 saplings have been planted in Group Center Jammu Campus Jammu, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Kendriya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu and Naturopathy Hospital Ved Mandir Amphalla, Jammu in the mega plantation drive organized.
All faculties of respective School & Hospital also took active participation in the plantation drive.
The Central Reserve Police Force has always been committed to its primary objective of maintaining internal security as well as social responsibilities.
The relation of human civilization with plants is from the very beginning of its birth. Trees are helpful in maintaining our environmental balance and ecology conservation.
They have an important place in our economy and life. In the year-2020, a total of 1.47 crore saplings were planted by the Central Armed Forces in the tree plantation drive, out of which a total of 27.87 lakh saplings were planted by the Central Reserve Police Force.
In the last year, 1,17,580 saplings were successfully planted by CRPF in Jammu region. In the year 2021, a target has been set to plant 90,000 saplings in 10 districts of Jammu region. The significant contribution in this drive was of J&K Forest Department who has provided large number of saplings. In this regard, a valuable cooperation was provided by Mohit Gera, PCCF, Dr B. Balaji, CCF, Rahul Singh DFO Jammu, Sunil Singh DFO Urban Jammu and all DFOs of respective Distts of Jammu Region.
The above programme was successfully organized under the leadership of Bhanu Pratap Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Group Center Jammu.
During this programme, Prem Chandra Gupta, Commandant, Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Sumit Verma, Deputy Commandant, Lakhmi Chand, Deputy Commandant (Min), Digambar Singh, Assistant Commandant, Ajay Sharma, Assistant Commandant, Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Harish Kumar Salahan, Assistant Commandant and other gazetted officers, subordinate officers, women and children of jawans and their families were participated.
Meanwhile in a major initiative to safeguard ecology of the area, the 33 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) held a plantation drive and planted about 2,000 saplings in Preet Nagar and Gangyal area of Jammu, thereby contributing towards efforts required to purify environment.
The unit has undertaken a target of planting 6,000 saplings during current year in Jammu, Doda and Bhadarwah areas, which is likely to be completed within a week. Commandant, 33 Battalion CRPF, Surinder Kumar; Regional CWWA Chairperson Veena and Deputy Commandant Santosh Kumar besides a number of officials and personnel were present on the occasion and planted saplings.
