JKPSA takes stock of students’ grievances in remote areas

UDHAMPUR: To take stock of problems being faced by students residing in various remote areas of district Udhampur, a delegation of J&K Private Schools Association (JKPSA), comprising members of Central Executive Body Kamal Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Ajay Singh, Jatinder Heera, Laddi Kumar along with Satish Sharma (former State President United Teachers Federation), Dr Sushil Sharma (former Professor Jammu University), visited a number of villages in Jangal Gali area and held a series of interactive meetings with students, parents and eminent villagers.
Expressing dismay over present situation, people in general and students in particular briefed the visiting delegation that it is hard for them to continue education in online mode due to non-availability of internet facility. They further said that irreparable loss of studies, which they faced since 2019, cannot be fulfilled. “We are worst suffers due to non-availability of good road connectivity and communication networks. Our areas lack medicare facilities, ambulance etc but loss in studies of our children has broken our heart. Our problems are ignored every time as none of the officials ever visited the area to listen to our grievances since creation of the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir. We are living at the mercy of God,” villagers added.
Ajay Gupta, General Secretary JKPSA appealed to the administration for immediate installation of mobile network towers in the area for larger interest of students, who are suffering a lot due to non-availability of internet connectivity. He also demanded partial reopening of schools in phased manner by, with adopting COVID appropriate behaviour, so that students can clear their doubts.
President JKPSA, Kamal Gupta also demanded reopening of schools as early as possible for all classes on the pattern, adopted by Government of Jammu and Kashmir last year, as several States, after second wave of COVID-19, have now announced re-opening of educational institutions.
