JAMMU: NSS Unit of GGM Science College observes Kargil Vijay Diwas Day by organizing a extension lecture here today.
The NSS Unit organized a webinar under the guidance of worthy Principal Dr. R.K Tickoo and supervision of Dr. Narinder Kumar NSS PO in which NSS volunteers paid their tributes to the war heroes.
Ashok Singh (Dy.SP) was the key resource person on the occasion.
In his lecture, Singh threw a detailed light on the history, and objectives of Kargil Vijay Diwas Day. This day is observed in the Kargil sector and New Delhi, where the Prime Minister of India pays homage and tributes to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate every year, he added.
He underlined it was indeed touching and an emotional scene to witness the sacrifices made by the soldiers of Indian army to safeguard the montherland.NSS Volunteers also expressed their views.
Earlier, Dr. Narinder Kumar in his welcome address, he introduced the audience about the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas Day.
He emphasized that it is moral duty of every student, NSS volunteer, even citizen of India to encourage our army by organizing some events to booster the morale of armed forces.
He stressed upon the audience that, such functions are also organized all over the country to commemorate the contributions of the armed forces he added. Students display the patriotic slogans like forever will remain in the hearts of every Indian:
“It is my nature to be kind, gentle and humane, but remember when it comes to the matter of protecting my nation and people, fear me! I am the strongest, one who is powerful and relentless”.
“Either I will come back after hoisting the Tricolour, or I will come back wrapped in it but I will be back for sure” – Captain Vikram Batra.
A programme was concluded with the observance of two minutes silence to pay homage to the fallen heroes.
Large number of students had joined the webinar by means of social media displaying banners/posters to disseminate maximum awareness in order to make the programme meaningful. NSS volunteers, who had joined the webinar from different colleges of Jammu and Kashmir UT, took a pledge to help and encourage our great Indian army.
The webinar ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Narinder Kumar. Technical support was provided by Shubham in organizing the webinar.
