STATE TIMES NEWS Lamberi: A meeting of Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent persons of the Lamberi block was held on Monday under the chairmanship of DCC General Secretary and Sarpanch Kishori Dutt Soodan. The meeting was which was attended by DCC President and Former Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan, Vice Chairman DDC Rajouri, Chief Spokesperson Cong Ravinder Sharma Ex MLC, Block President Bakshi Chander, Sarpanchs Pashori Lal, Pappy, Ex Sarpanch Arshad Mehmood State Secy OBC, DS Raina, Sat pal Sharma PCC Delegate, Panchs CP Sharma and Asha Devi, Ramji Dass, Dr Naresh Sharma, DCC Secy Novel Sharma, Gopal Sharma, YC Vice President Dheeraj Sharma Jagan Nath Sharma, Yash Pal and several others. The speakers raised the various problems of people especially the acute shortage of drinking water and malfunctioning of the filtration plant besides the pick and choose basis for the BPL and other benefits on political considerations by the ruling party. Sarpanch Kishori Dutt Soodan criticized BJP and its functionaries for interfering in every sphere of development activities on party basis and depriving the deserving ones of the eligible benefits. The other speakers too praised the development works and non partisan approach of the Cong leadership especially the representatives of the area for most of the period post freedom as a result there is good development and large employment in the past but now BJP is only indulging in favoritism and monopoly in the area. They urged DDC VC Shabir Ahmed Khan to intervene in the illegalities and irregularities as well neglect of deserving poor and down trodden besides seeking intervention in the undue interference and encroachments on the rights of Sarpanchs, Panchs and Panchayats in their working. They appreciated the works done by former MLC Ravinder Sharma and his continuous efforts to serve the society and the people. The speakers highlighted the problem of the people due to allotment of the Dak Bungalow Lamberi to the DDC Member Lamberi – Seri, as a result the public accommodation has been captured. Seeking intervention of DDC VC to provide alternative accommodation to the DDC members on rent basis, they raised demand for the vacation of the Dak Bungalow on Jammu Poonch highway for public use. The speakers also raised the demand for the check and control over extraction of minor minerals from the local river and on the east exorbitant prices of sand, Bajri and grabble etc. Shabir Ahmed Khan and Ravinder Sharma assured the gathering to highlight their problems of water, rural developments and the accommodation of DDC office besides malfunctioning of some department especially RDD. Earlier the new office bearers of the party were felicitated by the gathering while two women Panchs C P Sharma and Asha Devi were welcomed into party by the DCC President and Ravinder Sharma Ex MLC. Prominent leaders Rajesh Gupta Councillor Rajouri and Lalit Mahajan also attended.
